Per recent claims from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a commutation application for consideration by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a whistleblower provided information indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, stated in a official statement that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for executive mercy.

Specific details of the “commutation application” remain unclear, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, per the insider, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the warden has individually organized private meetings for her and her visitors.

The visits reportedly involve a designated private space for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other prisoners, she was provided directions about instructing her associates to contact and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that Maxwell’s correspondents would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to the inmate, who would review and edit them and return them to the warden to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Further perks reportedly provided to her include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as private after-hours access to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the White House said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Recently, reports surfaced that she told friends and family in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her former location.

In August, she was moved from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as the President's private attorney.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around Trump's own personal ties to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, the congressman also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the president to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “The government must not offer her with room service, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche appear for a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to the President.

He inquired whether he had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to provide her with the move or special conditions in prison, and whether she, her attorneys, family or representatives have made any promises to the President or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a reply to the questions by 24 November.

In October, the US supreme court rejected an appeal from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
